Mevlüt Öztaş: Diary of a dying journalist

Mevlüt Öztaş was one of the hundreds of Turkish journalists who were imprisoned in the past few years. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April 2020. After several requests for his release on health grounds, he was finally freed in June. Öztaş passed away on August 19, 2020, 57 days after his release from prison.
